Golden Globes top fashion trends |
White and metallic gowns dominated red carpet at the Golden Globe Awards. Among the stars who wore white were Salma Hayek, Kate Winslet dressed in a strapless Azzaro gown, Heidi Klum, Ellen Pompeo who wore a Versace high-neck gown with an open back and silver trim, Jennifer Garner in her vintage Gaultier frock with art deco sequin detail and Teri Hatcher in a sleek gown with its metallic-embroidered waist.
 Belted dresses made another trend at the Golden Globes. Cate Blanchett wore a black Alexander McQueen dress with a lace sleeves and a jeweled belt. Cameron Diaz wore her white one-shoulder Valentino gown with a belt, whose contrasting bow matched her dirk hair. Penelope Cruz chose a scoop-neck Chanel Couture gown with a belt-clinched waist.
Some of the celebrities decided to show their sexy backs at the Golden Globes Awards. Jennifer Lopez wore a Marchesa gown with a draped back. Eva Longoria chose a low-back Ungaro dress. Sienna Miller also showed off her backi in low-dipping Marchesa gown with a long train. Teri Hatcher wore long white gown with a draped back.
More colourful dresses could also be spotted at the Golden Globes. Helen Mirren wore dark blue jersey gown designed by Donna Karan. Meryl Streep who last year stared in a film about fashion "The Devil Wears Prada" chose a blush seersucker chiffon gown by Carolina Herrera. Sheryl Crow wore purple gown by Elie Saab, Renee Zellweger wore emerald green strapless gown and Rachel Weisz chose red strapless gown designed by Bill Blass.
Angelina Jolie chose a draped gray gown for the night, most likely by St. John, with whom she has a $12-million modeling contract. Jennifer Hudson, who won an award, wore V-neck Vera Wang gown with short sleeves, while co-star Beyonce wore a metallic plunging V-neck gown with a keyhole opening on the belly that helped her gaining extra attention .
Usually at the Golden Globes gala we can see stars showing off their jewels. This year most of the celebrities chose simple elegance but we still could notice some bling bling. Heidi Klum wore a heavy heart necklace – part of her own collection for Mouawad line and singer Mary J. Blige wore multi-tiered jewels that matched her gown.
