Joshua Schulman named new ceo of shoe label Jimmy Choo |
 Tamara Mellon the creative director at Jimmy Choo has announced that Joshua Schulman is to be the new ceo for the luxury footwear brand. Joshua Schulman, who will run the company on a day-to-day basis, had previously worked for Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Gap and Kenneth Cole.
“Mr. Schulman’s appointment follows the decision by Mr. Bensoussan, ceo since 2001, to focus on building a unique portfolio of luxury brands that can be developed internationally in partnership with Towerbrook Capital,” the company stressed in a press release. “Mr. Bensoussan will continue to act as a member of the board and a key shareholder of Jimmy Choo.”
Jimmy Choo, the London-based brand is well known for its sexy and elegant shoes. Jimmy Choo, which was founded in 1996 by Tamara Mellon and namesake Jimmy Choo, who is no longer involved in the company, has recently launched a range of bags and has plans to launch a Jimmy Choo eau de toilette. The company has also recently opened new stores in Chicago, Hong Kong, Miami, Singapore and Tokyo
