Reebok celebrates its 25th birthday |
 Reebok is celebrating the coming of age of the label’s best-selling and most iconic shoe ever, the Reebok Freestyle. To celebrate the label has launched a collection of limited edition Freestyle Specials. A different style will be available to buy each month for an entire year, and kicked off on March 20 with the “Candle” shoe.
The range includes a mix of brand new and vintage bring-backs from the Eighties in a colour palette of neon, metallic and monochrome.
“Reebok is passionate about debuting 25th Anniversary Freestyle Collection because the shoe represents our history as the brand that pioneered the women’s fitness movement and started the high-top fashion trend,” said Reebok’s Chief Marketing Officer, Uli Becker. “Today, fashion is about freedom of expression and keeping it real. Back in the ‘80s, the Freestyle was worn by women who wanted to make a statement about their authenticity and individuality, and that still holds true today.”
In the past such celebrities as Cindy Crawford and Paula Abdul wore Reebok’s brightly coloured ankle-biter trainers. The look now has already been sported by Lily Allen, Alicia Keys and Scarlett Johansson.
