Menswear Fashion Week in Paris |
 After haute couture fashion week has ended the menswear collections for autumn/winter 2007-8 have taken the limelight in Paris. Jean Paul Gaultier, Viktor & Rolf, Yves Saint Laurent are amongst those who have already showed their collections. John Galliano is set off to show his ideas with his collection for Dior on Tuesday as a part of the last day of five days of shows.
The Yves Saint Laurent menswear collection for autumn and winter should attract younger customers. Justin Timberlake watched the Ives Saint Laurent menswear collection from the first row. Yves Saint Laurent show reflected the influences of client Justin Timberlake and models on the show looked like clones of the singer. The fashion house is dressing Timberlake for his current world tour. “He’s a style icon because he represents a generation that is very contemporary," Yves Saint Laurent’s designer, Stefano Pilati told Associated Press.

Giorgio Armani brings haute couture live to Internet |

Giorgio Armani has become the first designer to broadcast an haute couture fashion show live on the Internet. "Now through the democracy of the Internet, we can provide a front-row seat for everyone," the Italian designer said in a statement. The fashion show was broadcast to the world via Microsoft Corporation’s MSN and a Cingular cellular phones. And if you missed it you can still go to www.msn.com to watch a video of the whole show.

Supermodel Gemma Ward starts career as an actress |
 Australian model Gemma Ward is going to exchange her career in fashion industry to career as an actress. She will star in The Black Balloon, a film set in her native country. Gemma who was enthusiastic to pursue a career in film for some time now, will skip most of the catwalks in the upcoming season. She is only expected to appear on Paris’s ready-to-wear catwalk shows.
The Black Balloon film is directed by Elisa Down and it tackles an adolescent boy difficulty in coming to terms with having autistic brother. Gemma Ward will play the girlfriend of the movie's central character. The role of boy’s mother will be played by celebrated Australian actress Toni Collette.
