Joshua Schulman named new ceo of shoe label Jimmy Choo |
 Tamara Mellon the creative director at Jimmy Choo has announced that Joshua Schulman is to be the new ceo for the luxury footwear brand. Joshua Schulman, who will run the company on a day-to-day basis, had previously worked for Yves Saint Laurent, Gucci, Gap and Kenneth Cole.
“Mr. Schulman’s appointment follows the decision by Mr. Bensoussan, ceo since 2001, to focus on building a unique portfolio of luxury brands that can be developed internationally in partnership with Towerbrook Capital,” the company stressed in a press release. “Mr. Bensoussan will continue to act as a member of the board and a key shareholder of Jimmy Choo.”

Kris Van Assche replaces Hedi Slimane as creative director of Dior |

Kris Van Assche has been chosen to succeed Hedi Slimane as creative director of Dior. The Belgian designer had previously worked for the label before he launched his own line in 2005. Kris Van Assche was chosen by LVMH (Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton) for his reputation for fine tailoring and comprehensive knowledge of the company.

Irina Lazareanu to model Kate Moss’ collection for TopShop |
 Kate Moss has chosen Irina Lazareanu to model the new collection she designed for the U.K. retailer TopShop. Irina was introduced to Moss before her modelling days, when she was a drummer in Pete Doherty’s band Babyshambles. In 2005 Kate Moss was guest-editing French Vogue and decided to cast Irina in a shoot.
“Kate thinks she’s got a very unique, rock-chick look. She really felt that Irina embodies the feel of her TopShop range - her porcelain skin, her big eyes under her thick Sixties fringe - it was a look Kate was impressed with,” a source close to Moss told Vogue.
Irina Lazareanu has become the supermodel since meeting Kate Moss. She has been modeling for such big fashion houses as Chanel, Mulberry and Hugo Boss.

Reebok celebrates its 25th birthday |
 Reebok is celebrating the coming of age of the label’s best-selling and most iconic shoe ever, the Reebok Freestyle. To celebrate the label has launched a collection of limited edition Freestyle Specials. A different style will be available to buy each month for an entire year, and kicked off on March 20 with the “Candle” shoe.
The range includes a mix of brand new and vintage bring-backs from the Eighties in a colour palette of neon, metallic and monochrome.

 Los Angeles Fashion Week is taking place this week. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week creates a center of attention for such design houses like Joseph Domingo, Sue Wong and Bebe. More than 20 designers are set to show their ideas for autumn/winter 2007-08 at Smashbox Studios in Culver City, California this week.
Juan Carlos Obando has already presented his very feminine collection for next season. Long ecru hanger dress with a cashmere cropped coat opened his show. Obando’s collection was full of ruffles and his trademark black tights.
