Milan Fashion Week – Fall 2007 Womenswear |
As London Fashion Week has ended the week of shows opened in Milan on Saturday, February 17. Milano Moda Donna (Milan Fashion Week) will last until February 24 and such fashion houses as Versace, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana will show their womenswear collections for autumn/winter 2007/2008.
Elena Miro has kicked of the Milan Fashion Week on Saturday. Dolce & Gabbana will show their ideas for fall on Feb. 19. Roberto Cavalli will unveil his collection on Wednesday and the designer has also scheduled gold-plated dinner at his “Just Cavalli” café after his show. Naomi Campbell, Elle Macpherson and Jade Jagger are going to be designer’s guests of honour.
Giorgio Armani, will unveil his latest inventions on Feb. 19. The designer will also show his younger Emporio Armani line during Milan Fashion Week on Feb. 21. Giorgio Armani will be celebrating the return of his namesake exhibition, a show that has been traveling the globe for four years. A cocktail party at the city’s Triennale museum will be held to celebrate the occasion.
Giles Deacon will debut for Daks during Milan Fashion Week. Gucci’s Frida Giannini will show her ideas for autumn/winter 2007/2008 on Wednesday. Other established names such as Prada, Bottega Veneta, Max Mara and Fendi will present their womenswear collections for next autumn and winter in Milan this week.
Milan has banned super skinny models with a body mass index of less than 18.5 from the catwalks. All models have to present evidence that they are healthy.
