Men’s Fashion Week in Milan – Autumn 2007 Collections
Around 50 shows are scheduled as part of the Men’s Fashion Week in Milan that will last until January 18. New collections for autumn/winter 2007 will be shown at various venues throughout the Italian capital of fashion.

Mens fashion showDolce & Gabbana, Burberry and Jil Sander were among the fashion houses that kicked off the new season in Milan. Dolce & Gabbana’s show themed on the Space Odyssey film included such menswear creations as zip-heavy jumpsuits, and space suits in metallic and whites colours.

Scissor Sisters front man Jake Shears enjoyed the Dolce & Gabbana’s show. “I was a bit overwhelmed that there was so much stuff that just looked fantastic(…).” “I love the slim silhouette. I'm crazy about it because I know that it fits me, because I'm a little guy,” he said after the show.

Also Donatella Versace's men's 2007-08 autumn/winter collection has already been shown during Men’s Fashion Week in Milan. The collection was inspired by the pope's personal secretary, Father Georg Ganswein. Donatella Versace said she wanted her men to show ‘less muscles and more spirituality’. ”Versace's men are austere. They want to be elegant, but in a refined rather than violent way.”- she added. Versace's show included some women's wear also, with little black dresses sporting similar flashy splashes teamed with achingly high shiny heeled shoes.

Other big fashion houses that are set to offer theirs ideas for autumn/winter 2007/2008 during Men’s Fashion Week in Milan are Roberto Cavalli, Prada, Gucci, Neil Barrett, Bottega Venta and Alexander McQueen.

Menswear Fashion Week in Milan hosts more than 1,200 photographers and reporters along with many international buyers. Even though men's fashion shows do not attract as many people as those for women's wear, but the shows are no longer solely about the designs on the catwalk but the free publicity that helps make a fashion label desirable to the average person and that sells the products stocked in the shops. Men’s fashion needs that publicity because it’s growing part of the fashion market, it’s where the biggest changes and developments will be in the near future.
