London Fashion Week – Autumn/Winter 2008 |
London Fashion Week continues today with more autumn/winter 2008 shows. Allegra Hicks, Peter Jensen, Gavin Douglas and Julien Macdonald are among those who will show their latest ideas for fall 2008 during the last day of fashion week.
The opening day’s schedule was dominated by the catwalk show of the iconic label, Biba. The collection included sharp mini-silhouettes with taut pointed shoulders, puffball skirts with jewel and sequined tops all in the dark palette.
John Rocha, who opened the second day of London Fashion Week on Monday, presented a collection full of dresses and skirts in pink, red, purple and gold.
Nicole Farhi presented very wearable collection for fall built on cashmere sweaters, pants, tunics, skirts and coats.
London favourite Giles Deacon presented a dark collection for the autumn/winter 2008/2009 full of voluminous puffa dresses and draped dresses. His collection was also full of bright colours.
Polish designer Krystof Strozyna who is new on the fashion scene showed a collection full of mini dresses, oversized turn-over collars, big power shoulder in such unexpected colours for fall as white and pink.
Lily Allen, Alexa Chung, Kelly Osbourne and Emilia Fox were all watching Luella Bartley’s fashion show. Her collection for fall 2008 included knitted hats, ribbon-trimmed frocks, navy blazers and trapeze-line coats.
As London Fashion Week comes to an end we can see that top looks and trends from London for fall 2008 include short skirts, ruffles, military coats, high-waisted trousers, architectural shoulders and everything in black.
