Fashion designer Marc Jacobs checked into rehab |
Marc Jacobs has checked into rehab. The designer had been sober for seven years, but had recently relapsed and decided to enter rehabilitation for drug and alcohol abuse. Jacobs decided to leave the French capital and flew to a treatment facility in Arizona the day after showing his Louis Vouitton collection during Paris Fashion Week.
 “Marc made the right decision. He’d been sober for seven years. When he relapsed, he wanted to deal with it right away. According to the experts, such a relapse isn’t uncommon. Thankfully, Marc recognized the problem himself and chose to deal with it. Obviously, our prayers are with him,” said Jacobs’ business partner, Robert Duffy.
The American designer, who had previously checked into rehab in the late ‘90s, has been the artistic director for Louis Vuitton since 1997. Jacobs launched his namesake line in 1986 and then in 2001 debuted another critically acclaimed and less expensive line Marc by Marc Jacobs.
Jacobs’ signature looks include pretty, romantic dresses, oversized prints, layered looks and bright colours. His accessory lines are extremely popular. Many celebrities go craze for his pointed flats and bags. Marc Jacobs has never been afraid to present eccentric styles in his collections. “I love that reaction of love or hate. It’s indifference that bores me to death,” he says.
