Kate Winslet nominated for Best Actress for Little Children looked effortlessly glam in a pale green, one-shouldered Valentino gown, set off by Chopard yellow diamonds. Cameron Diaz also wore Valentino gown and $2.9 million worth of Cartier jewelry.
Jennifer Hudson arrived on the red carpet in a brown ruched Oscar de la Renta gown. Supporting-actress winner unnecessarily topped the look with a metallic python bolero. Nicole Kidman wore slim crimson silk Balenciaga gown with an oversized bow and a custom L’Wren Scott diamond bracelet.
The Best Supporting Actress nominee, Cate Blanchett went for a one-shoulder Swarovski crystal mesh gown by Giorgio Armani Privé topped with a tulle beaded floral overlay and Lorraine Schwartz diamonds. Beyonce’s Armani Privé gown was basically a light green strapless dress with a sweetheart neckline.
Last year’s Best Actress winner, Reese Witherspoon looked elegant in a strapless, tiered Nina Ricci gown, a 38 carat Van Cleef and Arpels diamond bracelet and long straight locks. Gwyneth Paltrow went for a peach cap-sleeve pleated dress by Zac Posen. Jennifer Lopez wore an off-the-shoulder Marchesa gown, Lorraine Schwartz diamond earrings and pinned-up curls.
Last year's Best Supporting Actress winner, Rachel Weisz opted for a strapless almost-metallic oyster gown in satin by Vera Wang accessorized with a softly curled updo and diamond Cartier pendant.
