Supermodel Kate Moss launches her first fragrance
Kate Moss has launched her own signature perfume, named simply Kate. The delicate, daytime scent, created witch Coty, blends lily of the valley, magnolia and roses. Moss explained she wanted the scent to have “a vintage English feel”, and be a symbol of both her “good” and “bad” sides. “I tried to encompass everything that I feel about being feminine and a bit rock ‘n roll, a bit edgy and a bit light, a bit dark,” she said.


Kate's perfume launchThe fragrance comes packaged in a vintage-inspired flacon, with the motif being a black rose. The advertising campaign of the scent was shot by Craig McDean and shows naked Moss playing with the flower – complete with prominent thorns – in a field, highlighting the idea of both dark and light beauty.

What’s more the supermodel’s new fashion collection for high street chain Topshop launches in the UK next week. While her first designs were based on clothes from her own wardrobe, Kate’s autumn collection has been inspired by the season’s key trends.
 
“The pieces are loosely split into four stories, including tailoring, punk and Seventies, as well as evening wear. But it is still quite rock and androgynous in feel,” a spokesman for the fashion store said.

The collection - which ranges in price from £15 to £250 - include a retro-style tweed, black leather jacket, three-piece trouser suit, a pair of black drainpipe trousers, wet-look maxi dress and blue flapper-style dress, which is similar to the one that Moss wore to her 30th birthday.

Kate’s fall collection is expected to sell out in days after its launch on September 7th. Supermodel’s first collection flew off the shelves in May generating record sales for Topshop owner Sir Philip Green and reportedly taking £3.5m in its first week.
