Coach launches its first scent |
Coach, maker of great handbags and accessories, has launched its first scent, called “The Fragrance.” Coach president and creative director, Reed Krakoff, says it was inspired by genet, a wildflower from the South of France, and is a mix of florals, like mimosa and jasmine, with a touch of amber and vanilla.
“We developed a fragrance that is fresh, chic, sophisticated…and perfect for women of all ages,” says Reed Krakoff.
The company also put the fragrance, that is light and perfect for everyday use, in a mini purse spray that fits nicely into a Coach bag. The fragrance collection also includes a solid perfume compact.
The company has been testing the market of higher-priced goods recently. Last year, Coach unveiled its highest-priced line, called Legacy, with some bags nearing $1,000. Earlier this year, the company announced it will open two Coach Legacy boutiques in New York and Los Angeles. Legacy stores, that are set to open in the fall, will offer higher-priced, limited-edition items that will be sold exclusively.
