Jessica Simpson withdraws her tribute to Dolly Parton |
Jessica Simpson asked to be pulled out of the “Kennedy Center Honors” gala, after judging her performance of the Dolly Parton’s "9 to 5" classic unacceptable. Simpson flubbed the lyrics when she originally performed the song live, but producers gave her the second chance to sing the song for the upcoming television show.
But after Jessica saw a tape, she requested the second attempt to be
pulled out from the show. "She really wasn't happy with her performance
and she did want it to be perfect for Dolly, who she idolizes," said
Cindi Berger, a spokeswoman for Simpson.
George Stevens Jr., the show's producer, said, "We appreciate the time and energy Ms. Simpson put into this event and respect the high standards she has for herself and that of the Kennedy Center Honors."
Jessica Simpson is now working on her new film ‘Blond Ambition’ in which she plays a small town girl who moves to NYC and rises to the top as a business woman. This movie also stars Luke Wilson and Andy Dick
