Michael Jordan and wife file for divorce |
Michael Jordan and Juanita Jordan have filed for divorce: “Michael and Juanita Jordan mutually and amicably decided to end their 17-year marriage,” the couple's lawyers said in a statement. “There will be no further statements” – he added.
 Divorce papers were filled in the Lake County Circuit Court, where the couple said: “Irreconcilable differences have caused an irretrievable breakdown of the marriage.” The Jordans also said attempts to reconcile had failed and future ones “would be impractical and not in the best interests of the family.”
Michael Jordan, the former Chicago Bulls star and his wife met at a restaurant in Chicago and wed in Las Vegas in 1989. They have three children: Jeffrey, Marcus and Jasmine. The couple, who have recently lived separately, will share custody of their children:
“The co-petitioners acknowledge that although their marriage is ending, they desire to resolve all of the issues surrounding the dissolution of marriage in the most amicable, expeditious and private fashion possible, for the benefit of themselves and their children,” the divorce papers state.
