Jessica Simpson and John Mayer an item again |
 Jessica Simpson and John Mayer have reportedly spent last weekend of the 2006 together in New York. First, couple was spotted having a meal in Mexican restaurant in SoHo on Saturday, where “they were very flirty, obviously so engaged with each other,” an eyewitness tells PEOPLE Magazine.
Later on that afternoon Simpson and Mayer were seen shopping at Barneys, where Jessica was seen shopping in the accessory department while Mayer went over to the men’s department. Simpson found a necklace that she liked but wanted Mayer to see it before buying it and was delighted when Mayer has presented her with a jewelry.
Later that evening, the couple went to the Comedy Cellar, the same spot where Mayer tried out his stand-up skills a few days earlier. “They were friendly,” the club's manager has said. “They were talking to everybody.”
On New Year’s Eve Jessica and John made an appearance at a Hudson Hotel party. They spent some time in the V.I.P. area, where the couple were ‘making out’. Mayer was scratching Jessica’s back and they were kissing. Later that night the couple went to a Stereo club in New York City.
Meanwhile, across town, Simpson's ex husband Nick Lachey celebrated the New Year’s Eve with Vanessa Minnillo, his girlfriend of eight months while the couple counted down the final seconds of 2006 for MTV’s Time Square variety. Lachey and Minnillo have kissed passionately at midnight and looked very happy.
However Us Weekly Magazine reports that evening wasn’t so romantic for the couple after all, because Minnillo had too much champagne, fell down a lot and stuffed money in her mouth as a joke while an "unamused" Nick alternately watched in "stony silence" or ignored Venessa.
