Actor Djimon Hounsou becomes face of Calvin Klein underwear |
Djimon Hounsou has been chosen to front the new Calvin Klein Steel underwear campaign. The Hollywood actor will model the autumn/winter 2007-8 collection for which he will be photographed outside. Hounsou will also appear in the label’s underwear ads.
 “As a child growing up in Africa, I could have never dreamed that I would be where I am today. Representing such an iconic American brand like Calvin Klein Underwear signifies to me that I have been accepted. This carries more meaning for me than you can imagine. Dreams really do come true,” Said Hounsou.
“Djimon’s look and style complement his accomplished acting career and make him uniquely suited to represent the Calvin Klein Underwear brand and specifically the introduction of Steel,” said Tom Murry, president and chief operating officer at Calvin Klein.
Hounsou, who was nominated for his second Academy Award for his role in “Blood Diamond,” is best known for his performances in “Amistad,” “Gladiator,” “In America,” and “The Island.” The actor has been reportedly dating model Kimora Lee Simons, who separated from the music and fashion mogul Russell Simmons last year after an eight year marriage.
