Britney Spears and Paris Hilton Top Mr. Blackwell's Worst Dressed List |
Pop princess Britney Spears and hotel heiress Paris Hilton have topped Mr. Blackwell's 47th annual "Worst Dressed Women List.” Next on the retired designer's list are Camilla Parker-Bowles, Lindsay Lohan and Christina Aguilera.
 Blackwell has called Spears and Hilton “two peas in an over-exposed pod” and “style-free and fashion deprived.” Camilla Parker-Bowles, wife of Britain's future king, Prince Charles, who came second on the list was named “duchess of dowdy.” “In feathered hats that were once the rage, she resembles a petrified parakeet from the Jurassic age. A royal wreck,” wrote Blackwell.
At No. 3 was young star Lindsay Lohan, scolded by Blackwell for revolving "from adorable to deplorable." Next star featured in the fashion critic’s list was Christina Aguilera, who was described as “dazzling singer”, who “puts good taste through the wardrobe wringer. All crass and no class.” Mariah Carey can also be found in Blackwell’s annual list, described as “Mariah the fashion pariah ... the queen of catastrophic kitsch.”
Also targeted, in No. 10 spot, was 57-year-old Meryl Streep, who played a fashionista in The Devil Wears Prada. Blackwell said: “Her beauty of a career cannot be denied, but that beast of a wardrobe is pure mother of the bride.”
Mr. Blackwell has also offered his 10 “fabulous fashion independents,” which include: actresses Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie and Helen Mirren, singers Barbra Streisand and Beyonce, Princess Charlotte of Monaco, model Heidi Klum and actresses Katie Holmes and Marcia Cross.
It’s not the fist time Paris Hilton and Britney Spears were featured in the Blackwell’s list. Last year Britney topped the list and Paris came at No. 6. Other celebrities featured in the Blackwell’s list in 2005 were: Eva Longoria. Jessica Simpson, Shakira and Mary-Kate Olsen.
