Victoria Beckham’s DVB to unveil sunglasses and denim collections |
Victoria Beckham’s DVB line is launching a range of men's and women's sunglasses for spring/summer 2007. Furthermore denim collection and his-and-her fragrances will be launched in the Fall. Victoria Beckham wants to expand DVB brand empire and her collection of sunglasses will include oversize Jackie O-style shades and demure Ray Ban-inspired shapes. “Personally, sunglasses are such an important accessory – yes their main purpose is practical, but by no means should that prevent you from taking pride in your eyewear and looking and feeling good,” said Beckham.
Victoria Beckham has also recently inked a manufacturing deal with Western Glove Works to develop and distribute her debut denim collection. "We’re delighted to have this association,” the president of the clothing manufacturing company, Bob Silver has said. “We think her input is going to be terrifically valuable, and we’re going to develop a brand that will be world-renowned.” DVB jeans collection, which will include denim pants, skirts and shorts, will be priced for what Silver termed as “premium or luxury” markets. “They’ll be quite exclusive,” he said.
Victoria Beckham worked with American designer Rock & Republic to produce a jeans line called VB Rocks for the past six seasons, but the deal ended with that company's current spring line.
Victoria Beckham, who has guest styled fashion spread for the March 2007 issue of Harper's Bazaar starring Katie Holmes, says fashion is very important in her life. “[Fashion] is something that I am good at, I am confident with. I realize I have a long way to go. I just have a real passion for it, much more than for music. To actually see the final product in a store is so exciting. That’s much more exciting than having any number-one record for me personally,” she said
Meanwhile after months of speculation, The Spice Girls are reportedly ready to perform together again. The reunion would include girl group members Mel B (Scary Spice), Victoria Beckham (Posh Spice), Geri Halliwell (Ginger Spice) and Mel C (Sporty Spice). There was no word on whether Emma Bunton (Baby Spice), who is currently pregnant, would join other girls.
